The company which specialises in precision machining is looking for someone who comes from a manufacturing environment - ideally from the Aerospace or Automotive sector. As a Buyer Planner, you will be responsible for sourcing of product from existing and new suppliers, developing and monitoring schedules for products and commodities to meet external and internal customer demand. Responsibilities. • Procurement of product from supplier base at optimum price. • Reporting on contribution of Monthly Procurement . • Responsible for tracking and planning all materials as well as prioritize all qualification activity on the shop floor. • Collaborate both internally and externally with customer contacts on routine matters. • Track all material for age and minimum revision. • Coordinate material availability. • Create and track internal sales orders, forecast and track inventory. • Maintain metrics of activity within the area including qualification and stock status. • Train and transition knowledge of new products to steady state master schedulers, production control, and inventory control. • Contributes to the fulfilment of projects and organizational objectives. • Provide direction to production coordinators and system technicians. • To assist in the continuous roll out of ERP system. • To Prepare weekly labour and monthly status reports. Qualifications and Experience: • Five years' experience as a buyer/material planner in a manufacturing environment. • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills. • Expert knowledge of ERP system(s.
